Monastery NS – John Gaynor

John Gaynor is 88 years old. He worked as a rate collector for Tipperary Urban District Council. In 2007, he received the Freedom of Tipperary Urban District Council for services to the community. He is a founder member of Tipperary Town Credit Union and still continues to serve on the board. Johnny was secretary of the Tipperary Red Cross for over a decade in the fifties and was also the secretary of Arravale Rovers G.A.A. Club in the early part of that decade. Johnny attended the Old Monastery School in the Tipperary Hills.
